Columbia River Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association

Executive Summary

Established in 1977, the Columbia River Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association (CRCBFA) promotes the Oregon and Southwest Washington customs brokerage and freight forwarding industry as a whole. We are a group of licensed Customs House Brokers and Freight Forwarders focused on maintaining the flow of legitimate, international trade and education. Our organization takes an active leadership role in organizing and participating in seminars and conferences which are relevant to its members, and their clients. We often jointly sponsor sessions with other common interest organizations and government agencies. Additionally, the CRCBFA holds lunch meetings on the third Wednesday of September through June, featuring guest speakers addressing a full range of issues of concern to our industry.

The CRCBFA actively encourages our members to interact with each other in furtherance of our common interests. As one of the five associations comprising the Pacific Coast Council of Customs Brokers and Forwarders, we sponsor and participate in the annual West Coast gathering of industry professionals, WESCCON. We also send a large delegation of members to Washington, DC annually, where we meet with the highest level of Customs and other government agencies, as well as all of our Congressional Representatives and Senators, or their senior staffers. Several of our members sit on key national trade and government relations committees, such as the Trade Support Network (TSN), a joint Customs and Trade forum, and the Treasury Commercial Operations Advisory Committee (COAC).
