April 2014 Member of the Month - Industrial Craters & Packers!
Recently Industrial Craters & Packers (ICP) received an emergency call from a regular customer who had purchased an 8,000 lb granite and ceramic laboratory table. While the piece was being reloaded for local delivery, the under-designed crate failed catastrophically and the tool nearly fell through the side of the manufacturer’s crate. ICP technicians Seung Chheung and Iain Brown traveled to the trucking company’s warehouse to:
• Dismantle the damaged crate
• Lift tool from destroyed crate base
• Set to new heavy duty skid
• Floating deck
• Crib up tool (off of casters, weight distributed)
• Block in place
• Strap in place
• Drape and wrap
The pictures show how a skid should (and should not) be constructed for a heavy, yet fragile tool such as this. Nice work guys!
They received this note from our customer:
“Gentlemen, Thanks again… SO much for all your hard work on this and coming to our (my…lol) rescue! As always (but ESPECIALLY in this case) YOU’RE WONDERFUL!”
